In 1995, the city of Neubrandenburg purchased the personal estate of Reimann, bringing the various collections under the aegis of the Neubrandenburg Literary Center, which immediately created a permanent exhibition from the material. With the relocation of the holdings to the Gartenstraße 6 and the opening of the Brigitte-Reimann- House of Literature in 1999, the process was completed.
